§ 7617. Suspension or Modification of Filing Requirement; Rules; Excess Rates for Specific Risks. (a) Under such rules and regulations as the Commissioner, by written order, may suspend or modify the requirement of filing as to any class of insurance, or subdivision or combination thereof, or as to classes of risks, for which the rates cannot practicably be filed before they are used. Such orders, rules, and regulations shall be made known to insurers and rating organizations affected thereby. The Commissioner may make such examination as the Commissioner deems advisable to ascertain whether any rates affected by such order meet the standards set forth in 4 CMC § 7201 et seq. The Commission inserted a comma after the word “rules” in subsection (a) pursuant to 1 CMC § 3806(g). Subsection (a) originally referenced “standards set forth in 4 CMC § 7605.” However, as section 7605 was not properly enacted, the Commission changed this reference to 4 CMC § 7201 et seq. pursuant to 1 CMC § 3806(d). See the Commission Comment to 4 CMC § 7605.
