§ 7703. Appointment of Special Prosecutor. If the office of the Attorney General receives reports of an alleged violation of 1 CMC § 7701 by either the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, the Attorney General, or an employee in their respective offices, and the evidence is sufficient to form a reasonable suspicion that a violation of 1 CMC § 7701 has occurred, then the Attorney General shall appoint an independent special prosecutor, who is not presently an assistant attorney general, to investigate and prosecute a violation of 1 CMC § 7701 consistent with the interests of justice.
