§ 7849. Secrecy of Records; Penalty for Violation. All records of the Public Auditor shall be confidential unless it is deemed necessary for the Public Auditor to make the records public in the performance of his or her duties. Violations relative to the secrecy of proceedings by the Public Auditor or any member of the Public Auditor’s staff shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than six months or by a fine for not more than $1,000.
