1 CMC § 8151

TITLE 1: GOVERNMENT

DIVISION 8: PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT

§ 8151. Legislative Intent and Findings. It is the intent of this article to insulate government employees from being intimidated and harassed by threats to their employment security from political pressure relative to public elections. The legislature finds that in order to protect the fundamental political freedoms embodied in the Commonwealth Constitution and to ensure that the delivery of public services is not interrupted by partisan politics, government employees should not be pressured or coerced into political activities or support for political parties or candidates by threats to their employment.
