§ 8174. Release of Liability. The owners and occupants of residential dwellings that qualify for an electrical service connection, as the result of the operation of 4 CMC § 8172, shall, as a condition of connection, sign a written release form to be provided by the CUC. This release form shall state that the Commonwealth government and CUC, and their respective officers, employees, and agents shall in no manner or fashion be held liable for any injury or damage incurred by the owner or occupant or their families, visitors, business visitors, or any third parties entering the premises for whatever reason, resulting from accident or failure of electrical facilities provided by the owner or occupant. The Commonwealth government and CUC in no way waive claims to sovereign immunity and by this article expressly claim such immunity, the provisions of title 7, division 2, chapter 2, article 1 [7 CMC § 2201 et seq.] notwithstanding.
