Wages and Clothing Exempt from Attachment; Assignment of Wages. The wages and clothing of a seaman shall not be subject to attachment or arrestment from any court; and assignment or sale of wages or of salvage made prior to the accruing thereof shall not bind the seaman, except that allotments shall bind the seaman.
