§ 9131. Wages not Dependent on Freight Earned. No right to wages on the part of any seaman shall be dependent on the earning of freight by the vessel; provided, that nothing in this section shall be construed to prevent any profit-sharing plan by which officers and crew are to be compensated with profits in addition to their established wages.
