§ 9242. Other Criminal Violations. (a) The following persons may be found guilty of a misdemeanor: (1) Any person disclosing information in violation of 4 CMC § 9233; or (2) Any employer who willfully violates any provisions of this chapter or of any rule, regulation or order issued under the authority of this chapter; or (3) Any employer or employer’s agent who discharges or discriminates against any employee because the employee has made a complaint to the employer, to the director, or to any other person that the employee has not been paid wages in accordance with this chapter, or has testified or is about to testify in any proceedings; or (4) Any employer or employer’s agent who pays or agrees to pay any employee compensation less than that which the employee is entitled to under this chapter. (b) Any such person is punishable by a fine of not less than $50 nor more than $500, or by imprisonment not in excess of one year, or both. Source: PL 1-20, § 13, modified.
