Regulation. The Secretary of Labor shall promulgate regulations to implement the provisions of this chapter within 30 days of November 16, 1995. Source: PL 9-71, § 5, modified; PL 17-1 § 6(B) (March 22, 2010).* Commission Comment: With respect to the reference to the “Secretary of Labor and Immigration,” see Executive Order 94-3 (effective August 23, 1994), reorganizing the executive branch, changing agency names and official titles, and effecting other changes, set forth in the Commission comment to 1 CMC § 2001; see also the comment to 4 CMC § 9212. The Commission corrected a manifest error pursuant to 1 CMC § 3806(g) while codifying this section. PL 17-1 § 6(B) provides for the amendment of Division 5 (Business Regulation), Chapter 5, § 9504. However, this section falls under Division 9 (Labor). The section number and language indicates that this is the section that PL 17-1 § 6(B) intended to amend. *PL 17-1 contained the following section regarding the effective date of the law: Section 12. Effective date. This Act shall take effect upon its approval by the Governor or becoming law without such approval and shall be retroactive to November 28, 2009 except as otherwise specifically provided herein.
