§ 9702. Purpose. The intent and purpose of this chapter is to recognize that there exists a public policy in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands against strikes by public employees as a means of settling their labor disputes; that the uninterrupted and dedicated service of these employees is vital to the welfare and public safety of the Commonwealth; and that to promote such dedicated and uninterrupted public service there should exist an effective and adequate alternative means of settling disputes. The provisions of this chapter are intended to be additional to other remedies and shall be liberally construed to accomplish their purpose. Source: PL 7-43, § 2.
