§ 9712. Penalties for Disobeying Court Order. (a) Where an organization, group or individual willfully disobeys a lawful order by the Superior Court pursuant to 1 CMC § 9711 or willfully offers resistance to such an order, whether by strike or otherwise, the punishment for each day that such contempt persists may be a fine fixed at the discretion of the court in an amount not to exceed $250 per day and immediate suspension without pay from any Commonwealth government employment. After seven days, failure to honor such an order may result in termination and a five-year disqualification from public employment in any capacity. (b) Where an employer willfully disobeys a lawful order of the Superior Court pursuant to 1 CMC § 9711 or willfully offers resistance to such an order, the punishment for each day that such contempt persists may be a fine at the discretion of the court in an amount not to exceed $500 per day assessed against the employer.
