Section 2. Persons who are aldermen upon the effective date of this supplement, shall be exempt from the provisions of the act to which this is a supplement, and such persons, if engaged in the real estate business during their term of office, may continue is such business upon the expiration of their term of office providing they shall meet all of the prerequisites of applicants for such licenses, except they shall not be required to have served in the employ of a duly licensed real estate broker or brokers as a duly licensed real estate salesman for a period of two years.
