Act 6 of 2007, § 1, under FLIGHT 93 MEMORIAL HIGHWAY - DESIGNATION.

Act 6 of 2007, § 1

Section 1. Findings.

The General Assembly finds and declares that on September 11, 2001, the United States suffered the worst terrorist attack in the nation's history. The attacks of September 11 reached the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania when one of the planes hijacked in the attack, United Airlines Flight 93, crashed in Shanksville, Somerset County, as the flight's passengers and crew attempted to overtake the hijackers. Neither the heroism of the passengers and crew on Flight 93, who selflessly gave their lives trying to regain control of the plane to avert further destruction, nor the compassion and the professionalism of the State and local emergency service personnel who responded to the crash should ever be forgotten.
