Restriction of use of state trunk highways through highway work zones

The secretary of the Department of Transportation, after consultation with the secretary of the Department of Public Safety, may restrict the use of any state trunk highway through a highway work zone by any vehicle or class of vehicle, if the restriction is necessary for the protection and safety of highway workers and the traveling public.
