(a) The department of correction shall exercise all the rights, powers and duties described in chapter 6 of this title and otherwise vested by law in the department, the commissioner, and the commissioner's officers, assistants and employees.
(b) All federal aid as defined by § 4-4-116(a) received or used by the department must be acquired and used subject to the requirements of § 4-4-116.
