Eligible offenders — Age

In placing an offender in a special alternative incarceration unit, the department of correction shall give priority to eligible offenders between seventeen (17) and twenty-five (25) years of age. In no event shall an offender who is over thirty-five (35) years of age be placed in a special alternative incarceration unit.
