Educator with eighth grade mathematics license to teach Algebra I or equivalent mathematics course

The state board of education, in consultation with the department of education, shall promulgate rules, in accordance with the Uniform Administrative Procedures Act, compiled in title 4, chapter 5, to establish a pathway for an educator who currently holds a license or endorsement to teach eighth grade mathematics to also teach Algebra I or an equivalent mathematics course, as determined by the state board of education, to students in eighth grade at no additional cost to the educator.
