(1) The governing body of any municipality is authorized to:(1) Elect an assessor of property, who shall be required to make and subscribe to an oath as provided by the general laws of the state for county assessors of property;(2) Prescribe the bond that the assessor of property shall give; and(3) Fix the assessor of property's compensation and the compensation of any and all deputies or employees.
