(a) The commissioner may reject the application of any person for admission to an assessment or may strike the name of a person from a pool, if the department determines that the applicant:(1) Lacks any of the required qualifications;(2) Is incapable of performing the essential functions of the position that the applicant is seeking;(3) Has been convicted of a crime rendering the applicant unsuitable for a particular position;(4) Has been dismissed for cause from state service;(5) Has made a false statement of a material fact; or(6) Committed or attempted to commit a fraud or deception in connection with submitting an application or attempting to secure an appointment to state service.
(1) Lacks any of the required qualifications;

(4) Has been dismissed for cause from state service;
(5) Has made a false statement of a material fact; or
(6) Committed or attempted to commit a fraud or deception in connection with submitting an application or attempting to secure an appointment to state service.
(b) Any person whose name is removed from a pool of candidates for any reason shall be notified.
