(1) Notwithstanding chapters 34-37 of this title to the contrary, any member, as defined in § 8-34-101, shall receive the greater of:(1) The service retirement allowance as provided in chapters 34-37 of this title; or(2) The service retirement allowance as would have been provided the member by the superseded system.

(2) The service retirement allowance as would have been provided the member by the superseded system.
