General Powers and Duties of Department Related To Substance Abuse

Sec. 1001.073. GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES OF DEPARTMENT RELATED TO SUBSTANCE ABUSE. The department is responsible for administering human services programs regarding substance abuse, including: (1) administering, coordinating, and contracting for the delivery of substance abuse prevention and treatment programs at the state and local level; (2) inspecting, licensing, and enforcing regulations regarding substance abuse treatment facilities; and (3) providing public education on substance abuse issues, as directed by law.
