Sec. 140A.052. CIVIL INVESTIGATIVE DEMAND. If the attorney general has reason to believe that a person may be in possession, custody, or control of any documentary material or other evidence or may have any information relevant to a civil racketeering investigation, the attorney general may, before beginning a civil proceeding, issue in writing and serve on the person a civil investigative demand requiring the person to: (1) produce any of the documentary material for inspection and copying; (2) answer in writing any written interrogatories; (3) give oral testimony; or (4) provide any combination of civil investigative demands under Subdivisions (1)-(3).
