Art. 17.36. EFFECT OF WITNESS BOND. The bond given by a witness for his appearance has the same effect as a bond of the accused and may be forfeited and recovered upon in the same manner. Acts 1965, 59th Leg., vol. 2, p. 317, ch. 722.
