Definition

Sec. 1701.601. DEFINITION. In this subchapter, "school resource officer" means a peace officer who is assigned by the officer's employing political subdivision to provide a police presence at a public school, safety or drug education to students of a public school, or other similar services. The term does not include a peace officer who provides law enforcement at: (1) a public school only for extracurricular activities; or (2) a public school event only for extracurricular activities.
