Locksmith

Sec. 1702.2227. LOCKSMITH. (a) An individual acts as a locksmith for the purposes of this chapter if the person: (1) sells, installs, services, or maintains mechanical security devices, including deadbolts and locks; or (2) advertises or offers services to the public or represents to the public that the person is a locksmith. (b) This section does not apply to a hotel, as that term is defined by Section 156.001, Tax Code. Added by Acts 2003, 78th Leg., ch. 936, Sec. 9, eff. Sept. 1, 2003.
