Oath and Bond

Sec. 282.022. OATH AND BOND. (a) Before assuming the duties of office on the board, each district board member elect must: (1) take and subscribe an oath before the county judge to faithfully and impartially discharge the duties of a board member and to give an account of the member's activities to the commissioners court when requested to do so; and (2) execute a good and sufficient bond for $5,000 payable to the county judge for the use and benefit of the district, conditioned on the faithful performance of the person's duties as a board member. (b) The county clerk shall file and maintain the oath as part of the district records. Acts 1989, 71st Leg., ch. 678, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1989.
