Sec. 30.00022. NEW TRIAL. The trial court shall decide from the briefs of the parties whether the appellant should be permitted to withdraw the notice of appeal and be granted a new trial by the court. The court may grant a new trial at any time before the record is filed with the appellate court. Added by Acts 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 691, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1999.
