Sec. 351.082. APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF. The commissioners court shall appoint the county sheriff or other qualified person as chief of the department. The chief shall administer the department under the supervision of the commissioners court. Acts 1987, 70th Leg., ch. 149, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1987.
