Sec. 3821.153. MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION TAX. (a) If authorized at an election held in accordance with Section 3821.152, the district may impose an annual ad valorem tax on taxable property in the district for the: (1) maintenance and operation of the district and the improvements constructed or acquired by the district; or (2) provision of a service. (b) The board shall determine the tax rate. Added by Acts 2005, 79th Leg., Ch. 729 (H.B. 2019), Sec. 1.03, eff. April 1, 2007.
