Sec. 42.014. SCIENTIFIC INVESTIGATIONS. (a) The department may develop and administer scientific investigations into the cause, prevention, methods of treatment, and cure of end stage renal disease, including research into kidney transplantation. (b) The department may develop techniques for an effective method of mass testing to detect end stage renal disease and urinary tract infections. Acts 1989, 71st Leg., ch. 678, Sec. 1, eff.
