Powers Relating To Parks, Recreational Facilities, and Preservation of Fish and Wildlife

Sec. 8513.0307. POWERS RELATING TO PARKS, RECREATIONAL FACILITIES, AND PRESERVATION OF FISH AND WILDLIFE. (a) The authority may acquire: (1) additional land adjacent to a permanent improvement constructed inside the authority for the purpose of developing parks or recreational facilities; and (2) necessary rights-of-way to construct, operate, and maintain roads necessary for ingress and egress to an area described by Subdivision (1) or to a fish or wildlife preserve or reserve. (b) The authority may provide recreational facilities and services and may enter into a contract or agreement with any person for the operation or maintenance of a park or recreational facility. (c) The preservation of fish shall be in accordance with any rules prescribed by the Parks and Wildlife Department. Added by Acts 2025, 89th Leg., R.S., Ch. 240 (H.B. 2692), Sec. 1, eff. May 29, 2025.
