Sec. 22.007. VACANCY CREATED ON FAILURE TO QUALIFY. If a municipal officer-elect fails to qualify for office within 30 days after the date of the officer's election, the office is considered vacant. Acts 1987, 70th Leg., ch. 149, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1987.
