Sec. 23.022. INITIAL MAYOR. Immediately after election returns for the initial election for municipal officers have been made, the county judge shall commission the candidate who received the highest number of votes for the office of mayor. Acts 1987, 70th Leg., ch. 149, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1987.
