15A-1-205. Division duties -- Relationship of division to other entities.
(1) The division shall administer the codes adopted or approved under Sectionpursuant to this chapter. 15A-1-204 Notwithstanding Subsection (1)(a), the division has no responsibility to: conduct inspections to determine compliance with the codes; issue permits; or assess building permit fees. Notwithstanding any other provision, the division, the Division of Facilities Construction and Management, the state regulator, any approved third party inspection agency as defined by Section, or any approved third party inspector as defined by Sectiondoes not have the responsibility or authority to perform the duties reserved to a local regulator as set forth in Section, unless designated by a local regulator to perform that duty. 15A-1-302 15A-1-302 15A-1-304
(2) As part of the administration of the codes, the division shall: comply with Section; 15A-1-206 schedule appropriate hearings; maintain and publish for reference: the current State Construction Code; and any approved code; and publish the opinions of the commission with respect to interpretation and application of the codes.
(3) As part of the administration of the codes, the division shall license inspectors, including approved third party inspectors. The Division of Facilities Construction and Management may access a list of all licensed inspectors, including approved third party inspectors, on the division's website.
