20A-1-104. Computation of time.
(1) Time is computed in this title as provided in this section.
(2) Except as provided in Subsection, or as otherwise expressly provided in this title: (3) if a provision describes a time period in terms of a certain number of calendar days: the time period is calculated by consecutive days; and the beginning and ending day of the time period is the calendar day on which the time period begins or ends; if a provision describes a time period in terms of a certain number of business days, only the business days are included in the calculation; and if a provision describes a time period in terms of a certain number of days rather than calendar days or business days, the days referred to mean calendar days.
(3) A time period that relates to filing an action or document in court is calculated as provided in court rule.
(4) Except in relation to the following chapters, if a deadline described in this title ends on a weekend or holiday, the deadline is extended to the next business day: Chapter 19, Utah Independent Redistricting Commission and Standards Act; and Chapter 20, Utah Independent Redistricting Commission.
