23A-5-303. Importation or exportation and release of wildlife unlawful -- Criminal penalty.
(1) A person may not: import into or export from the state a species of live native or exotic wildlife; or possess or release from captivity imported live wildlife described in Subsection. (1)(a)
(2) Notwithstanding Subsection, a person may engage in an act described in Subsectionif: (1) (1) provided for in this title or the rules made by the Wildlife Board in accordance with; and Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act the person first secures written permission from the division.
(3) A person who violates this section is subject to the penalty provided in Section. 23A-5-301
