26B-5-704. Committees -- Creation -- Duties.
(1) Each committee created under this part or formed by the commission in accordance with this section serves under the direction of the commission.
(2) In addition to the committees created under this part or formed by the commission, the following are committees of the commission and shall serve under the direction of the commission to assist the commission in performing the commission's duties: the Behavioral Health Crisis Response Committee created in Section; 63C-18-202 the Utah Behavioral Health Policy Review Committee created in Section; and 26B-5-801 the Statewide Suicide Prevention Committee created under Section. 26B-5-611
(3) In addition to the committees described in Subsectionor created under this part, the commission may form committees to support the commission in fulfilling the commission's duties. (2) When forming a committee, the commission shall, except as provided in Subsection: (4) appoint members to the committee who represent a range of views and expertise; and adopt procedures and directives for the committee. Unless otherwise provided for in statute, a member of a committee may not receive compensation or benefits for the member's service on the committee, but may receive per diem and travel expenses in accordance with: Section; 63A-3-106 Section; and 63A-3-107 rules made by the Division of Finance under Sectionsand. 63A-3-106 63A-3-107 Compensation and expenses of a committee member who is a legislator are governed by Sectionand Legislative Joint Rules, Title 5, Legislative Compensation and Expenses. 36-2-2
(4) In accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act, the department may make rules, in consultation with the commission, to establish the membership, procedures, and directives of a committee the commission forms.
