41-1a-418. Authorized special group license plates.
(1) In accordance with this chapter, the division shall issue to an eligible applicant a special group license plate in one of the following categories: a disability special group license plate issued in accordance with Section; 41-1a-420 a special group license plate issued for a: vintage vehicle; farm truck; or special group license plate described in Section. 41-1a-1602
(2) The division may not issue a new type of special group license plate unless the division receives: a private donation for the start-up fee established under Sectionfor the production and administrative costs of providing the new special group license plate; or 63J-1-504 a legislative appropriation for the start-up fee described in Subsection. (2)(a)
(3) Notwithstanding other provisions of this chapter, the division may not require a contribution as defined in Sectionfor a special group license plate described in Subsection, (1)(b)(i), or (1)(b)(ii). 41-1a-1601 (1)(a)
