53G-6-215. LEA accountability measures.
(1) An LEA shall: establish written policies and procedures for attendance tracking, intervention, and enforcement that comply with state law; train all relevant staff on attendance policies and procedures annually; ensure consistent implementation of attendance policies across all schools within the LEA; and provide clear communication to parents and students regarding attendance expectations and consequences.
(2) An LEA governing board shall: review relevant attendance data; evaluate the effectiveness of attendance interventions annually; ensure adequate resources are allocated for attendance monitoring and intervention programs; and approve any changes to attendance policies in a public meeting.
