58-11a-302.23. Practice of esthetics -- Legacy esthetics license -- Qualifications.
(1) Except as provided in Subsection, the division may not issue a legacy esthetics license after January 1, 2026. (3)
(2) An individual with a legacy esthetics license may perform any of the following skincare procedures done on the face or body for cosmetic purposes and not for the treatment of medical, physical, or mental ailments: cleansing, stimulating, manipulating, exercising, applying oils, antiseptics, clays, or masks, and manual extraction, including a comedone extractor, depilatories, waxes, tweezing, the application of eyelash or eyebrow extensions, natural nail manicures or pedicures, or callous removal by buffing or filing; limited chemical exfoliation as defined by rule; manual hair removal; other esthetic preparations or procedures with the use of the hands, a high-frequency or galvanic electrical apparatus, or a heat lamp; arching eyebrows, tinting eyebrows or eyelashes, perming eyelashes or eyebrows, or applying eyelash or eyebrow extensions; or subject to the requirements described in Section: 58-1-506 laser hair removal; anti-aging resurfacing enhancements; or photo rejuvenation.
(3) The division shall grant a legacy esthetics license to an individualwho: has registered an esthetics apprenticeship that meets the requirements of Subsectionwith the division on or before January 1, 2026; and (4)(a) completes the requirements described in Subsection; or (4)(a) has enrolled and started an esthetics program that meets the requirements of Subsectionwith a licensed school on or before January 1, 2026; and (4)(b) completes the requirements described in Subsection. (4)(b)
(4) An individual described in Subsectionshall complete at least 800 hours of apprenticeship training that is supervised by a licensed esthetics instructor who provides one-on-one supervision of the apprentice during the apprenticeship. (3)(a) An individual described in Subsectionshall graduate from a licensed school with a minimum of 600 hours or the equivalent number of credit hours. (3)(b)
(5) An individual with a legacy esthetics license may apply credit hours to another license or permit under this chapter, as allowed in Subsection. 58-11a-302(2)
