76-5-803. Failure to report the finding of a dead human body.
(1) Terms defined in Sectionsandapply to this section. 76-1-101.5 76-5-801
(2) An actor commits failure to report the finding of a dead human body if the actor: finds a dead human body; and intentionally fails to report the finding of the dead human body to a local law enforcement agency.
(3) A violation of Subsectionis a class B misdemeanor. (2)
(4) An actor does not violate this section if when the actor directs or carries out procedures regarding a dead human body, the actor complies with: Title, Antiquities; 9, Chapter 8a, Part 3 Title, Utah Medical Examiner; 26B, Chapter 8, Part 2 Title, Revised Uniform Anatomical Gift Act; 26B, Chapter 8, Part 3 Section; 53H-4-203 Title, Funeral Services Licensing Act; or 58, Chapter 9 Title, Utah Medical Practice Act, which concerns licensing to practice medicine. 58, Chapter 67
(5) For purposes of this section, a dead human body includes any part of a human body in any stage of decomposition, including ancient human remains.
