76-8-311.2. Prohibited dangerous weapon or ammunition in a secure area.
(1) As used in this section: "Correctional facility" means the same as that term is defined in Section. 76-8-311.3 "Dangerous weapon" means the same as that term is defined in Section. 76-11-101 "Firearm" means the same as that term is defined in Section. 76-11-101 "Higher education secure area" means a higher education secure area hearing room created under Section. 76-8-311.1 "Law enforcement facility" means the same as that term is defined in Section. 76-8-311.1 "Secure area" means the same as that term is defined in Section. 76-8-311.1 Terms defined in Sectionsandapply to this section. 76-1-101.5 76-8-101
(2) An actor commits prohibited dangerous weapon or ammunition in a secure area if the actor knowingly or intentionally transports a firearm or other dangerous weapon or ammunition into: a correctional facility; a secure area created by the State Tax Commission; a secure area in a law enforcement facility or a mental health facility; or a higher education secure area.

(4) It is a defense to a prosecution under this section that the actor acted in conformity with the facility's rule or policy established under Section. 76-8-311.1
