76-8-417. Tampering with an official notice or proclamation.

(2) An actor commits tampering with an official notice or proclamation if the actor intentionally defaces, obliterates, tears down, or destroys: a copy, transcript, or extract from or of a law of the United States or of this state; or a proclamation, advertisement, or notice, set up in this state by authority of a law of the United States or of this state, or by order of a court or of a public officer, before the expiration of the time for which the proclamation, advertisement, or notice was to remain set up.
(3) A violation of Subsection (2) is an infraction.
