Prospecting and mining—Public auction of mining contracts.

The department may offer nonrenewable placer mining contracts by public auction for the mining of gold under terms set by the department. In the case of lands known to contain valuable minerals or specified materials in commercially significant quantities, the department may offer mining contracts by public auction.[ 2003 c 334 s 402; 1987 c 20 s 2.
