25.31 Benevolent fund. The benevolent fund, amounting to the principal sum of $13,500, transferred to the state by chapter 636, laws of 1917, constitutes a separate trust fund and shall be conserved and applied as follows: (1) First: The principal of said trust fund shall be held by the secretary of administration, and be invested and reinvested as provided in this chapter.
