Impersonation of a peace officer; penalties. A person is guilty of impersonation of a peace officer if he falsely represents himself to be a peace officer with intent to compel action or inaction by any person against his will. Impersonation of a peace officer is a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than one (1) year, a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00), or both.
