Did you know2026
Brother is known for printers, but it began in 1908 as a sewing-machine repair shop (Yasui Sewing Machine Co.) and is still a major maker of home and industrial sewing and embroidery machines. The same precision-mechatronics and motion-control competency also builds industrial CNC machine tools — its compact, high-speed 'Speedio' machining centers are factory staples — and, surprisingly, Brother even runs a business-karaoke service (JOYSOUND). So a company reached via printer rollers is really a multi-headed precision-and-electronics house: office printing, sewing/embroidery, metal-cutting machine tools, and karaoke — a horizontal range almost nobody attributes to one brand. [verify: Brother sewing origin, Speedio CNC, JOYSOUND karaoke; established]
