Origin2023
Fuda Wood Group was established in 2005 in Linyi, Shandong Province — the city that hosts one of China's (and the world's) largest building materials and timber markets. Linyi's International Logistics City handles hundreds of thousands of tons of timber, plywood, stone, and building materials daily, making it the central distribution point for building materials flowing to construction projects across eastern China and for export. Fuda grew by specializing in container floor plywood — a niche product with specific performance requirements: the floor of a standard 20-foot ISO container must support a 24-tonne distributed load from fork-lifted cargo, resist fuel, chemicals, and moisture, and remain intact for 10+ years of rough handling. The traditional material is Apitong (keruing) — a tropical hardwood species from Malaysian and Indonesian Dipterocarp forests — which provides the density, hardness, and natural oil content required for durability. As Southeast Asian tropical timber harvesting came under increasing environmental and certification pressure in the 2000s-2010s, demand grew for bamboo composite container floors as an alternative. Fuda developed bamboo composite flooring as a supplement to its Apitong products, becoming one of the first IICL-certified bamboo container floor manufacturers. The global deforestation supply chain concern and the global trade infrastructure supply chain share the same container floor plywood product and the same Linyi manufacturer.
