Laminazione Sottile S.p.A. is located in the Brescia-Bergamo industrial corridor of Lombardy, Italy — a region known since medieval times for metalworking (the term "Bresciano" steel is synonymous with quality metalwork). Italy's postwar industrial recovery built a significant aluminum rolling industry in northern Lombardy, leveraging Switzerland and Austria-adjacent hydroelectric power and the Italian mechanical engineering tradition. Laminazione Sottile grew as the Italian food, HVAC, and automotive industries created demand for rolled aluminum at progressively thinner gauges.
