TBA — the main alternative to Navis in port software, owned by crane-maker Konecranes — is the leader in terminal simulation and emulation: it builds a "digital twin" of a terminal so operators can design, test and tune the choreography of automated cranes and guided vehicles, and stress-test throughput, before any equipment is installed. So the operating logic of the world's most advanced ports is shaped in one software house's simulators first, and only then poured into a real terminal. And because TBA sits inside a crane manufacturer, the hardware that moves the boxes and the software that decides how it moves are developed under one roof — a tight coupling of port machinery and the intelligence that runs it.
